First few pics with the new camera & lens

Just took a few from where I was sat with my new 40D. I'm quite pleased how they look bearing in mind they're just hand held snaps in (I think) point and shoot mode. I'm looking forward to getting to know the camera now and getting out and about.

Very nice Phil! Thanks for posting!

I am soooooooo tempted, it'll take me ages to save up for a D300... and the 40D is almost half the price!! Very tempting indeed!

I'm still getting used to the size and weight after my D50 which (compared to most newer entry level cameras) felt quite big. Without the additional battery grip, the camera / Lens / and tripod shoe (which I always have on) this is 1.4KG

Body & lens £849 - £140 Cashback (£100 body + £40 lens) = £709

It's a £300/£350 lens though.

There's cheaper 40D kits like the 18-55.

Re: First few pics with the new camera & lens

Thats pretty good - Much cheaper than getting a D300, and like you said the lens is £300 by itself.

I really am tempted! Gotta sell some studio gear first.. and even though I would LOVE a D300, the price difference really is something I can't ignore. What to do

I'll take a Raw as soon as I get home from work and email it off before I get distracted with the football.
