I think the weed is a composite part of the picture. The weed occupies a third, the cow seems to be eying it to decide whether it is edible or not. As i see it the picture stands very well as it is.

The cow has a quizzical look on it's face as if to say...'aha...how did I miss that tasty morsel'.
