12th Century Graveyard

At Abercorn in the tipping rain this afternoon.

Hope I managed to capture the atmosphere.

Re: 12th Century Graveyard

Yes, you have!

I have a cemetery near me, which you've seen pictures from. As you say, a strangely (very) moving experience......

I hope there wasn't much desecration there?

Re: 12th Century Graveyard

Wasn't any Grumps and the Church and a small museum were all left off the latch and with no one in attendance.

Polite message on the door to remind you to close it so that others may have the joy of opening it.

Re: 12th Century Graveyard

Nice picture, great idea and some nice tones. I'm not too sure about it all being soft, and the focus seems to be on the second gravestone and not the first. The first gravestone would probably look better with some of the detail being brought back , maybe around the top or the inscription on the face of the stone. This is one of those subjects where you can go back several times and have a go if you aren't sure.

Other people will have different interpretation and I still think it is a good idea but please ignore whatever i say if you wish

Re: 12th Century Graveyard

I agree with BC, and I toyed with whether to say it or not, and then didn't! - but yes, I do think it would benefit from the first stone being in focus

Re: 12th Century Graveyard

All good sound advice there thanks once again.

It is definitely somewhere I shall be returning to..on a dry day!

I felt I was taking my outside shots more quickly than I would have normaly on account of the rain.
