Re: Post a pic: Wide Angle

Love the picture Suzi, the studio club I belong to set a little competition called the 'Crap Camera Challenge', we were all given a disposable camera to take a set of pictures based on a theme of Birmingham. Our pictures were returned to us in digital form for us to manipulate as we see fit. The two pictures judged the best will get a small prize.

I must say, although a little uninspired at first, I really enjoyed the challenge and the results, content is paramount as technical merit is limited. So much did I enjoy it that I am thinking of getting a couple more cameras and extending the project further.

Re: Post a pic: Wide Angle

Thanks Jeff, appreciate it

Sounds like you have found yourself a decent studio club, I love that idea of all going out there with disposable cameras

Re: Post a pic: Wide Angle

I bought a fisheye off ebay. Big mistake. It was second hand and cheap. Lesson learnt. I had to photoshop the black in around the picture as it was so bad.

Anyone want to buy a fisheye

Depends on the format. On 120 roll film a 50mm lens would be wide angle, on 35mm fim 50mm would be classed as standard and on a 2X crop sensor such as mine a 50mm might be seen as telephoto. The absolute truth is that a 50mm lens is a 50mm lens! The only difference is its covering power and subsequently which camera it is attached to.

I tried to translate this into English but it's all Chinese to me

Re: Post a pic: Wide Angle

Sorry.......

It does geta little technical when you go into things a little more deeply. Photography is neither an art nor a science. It's a combination of both sometimes
