And seeing her first and last photos side by side is incredibly sad, but at the same time, incredibly beautiful, and although it must have been difficult to make this post, I'm really glad you shared it with us.

Being a cat lover your story brings a tear to my eye. Still, she had a very long life for a kitty. I've had to bury cats and have dogs put down. It's never easy as they certainly become part of our families.

Although I am more of a dog person know only too well how the loss of our aged pets affect everyone. My condolences to you and your family Phil, what our pets do leave us with, however, is many, many treasured memories and these last forever.

Its so tough when one has to say the last goodbye to a very much loved pet, its like loosing a member of the family. At least we have the choice to make the final decision hard though it is.
I think every pet lover will share the sadness with you, but you have done the right thing even if you regret having made it.

One thing your cat will be remembered through the pictures and the good times shared. Each pet is a one off ,with their own character and little ways which makes them so individual.

Thanks for all the messages folks.

Despite the fact we've still got the boy cats (Paddy and Murphy) the house has been really quiet today as she was one of those demanding vocal cats that never gave you a minutes peace - always nagging for something

At least the dogs out-number the cats now and dare I say it - combined we are now a male majority household.

Or is that just me clutching at straws

My heart goes out to you mate.
