Re: Photobooks

No but i have looked at them on photobox and snapfish.

I'm going to be paying a little bit more and doing mine through Aperture (my photo organising program) i'd rather pay the extra and make sure it comes out ok, especially as its going to be my portfolio. Just deciding what pictures to put in it at the moment.

I just had a 20x16" print from them of one of my photo's mum wanted for xmas, and to be honest i wasn't pleased with the overall quality of it. But thats just me

Re: Photobooks

do you mean you were not pleased with photobox?

I think i will go ahead and do a photobook of one of my recent weddings and see how its looks.

I can do 26 pages about 60 photos for 20 pound so if im not that impresed its not a lot to lose.

thanks for replying

Re: Photobooks

Yes, I've had both the hardcover ones and the softcover ones and the quality is excellent. I've just ordered another one which I've done for for my friend's wedding which should be arriving shortly. I've never had a problem with anything I've had off photobox.

Cheers

Re: Photobooks

I thought their service was very good don't get me wrong, but i sent them the largest image i could send which wasn't the highest quality i wanted to send as the largest photo was bigger than they allowed, and the picture came back slightly pixelated around the edge of the trees... not that you would notice from a distance but i look closely at my images and i can see it... my mum however (she wanted a 20x16" image of mine for xmas) wont even notice.

They are probably good for the smaller image stuff, and the photobooks will most likely come out great, but i just prefer the Apple program and i can do a lot more with the set up and layout of it than you can get in Photobox.... if you get what i mean lol!

Sammy - what was the resolution of the picture you sent them? I have bought 30" x 20" inch prints from them before and they have been perfectly fine, certainly not pixelated.

Re: Photobooks

I had 1 book done from fotobook.co.uk bit more expensive than photobox but they have come 1st in 2 reviews done by digitalphoto magazine so thought I'd try them as I'm very fussy with my own photos! was very pleased with it, they did make a mistake when it came so I emailed them and they knew the fault so sent me another, so ended up with 2! their customer service was excellent.

Re: Photobooks

I dont tend to use photobox, but i know of other professionals that have and do use them on a regular basis. By all accounts they are very good.
