This is a Have Your Say thread - please see the RULES for this thread here:

Mainly:
  1. You are only allowed one post - so get everything you want to say into it!
  2. You may not refer to, or quote anyone elses post (either from this site or any other) - unless you are correcting a factual mistake - in that case make a seperate additional post just for that purpose.
  3. Keep it amicable! Remember, consider other people's feelings when posting.
  4. Keep checking the rules thread - I'm bound to have forgotten some!

Re: Have Your Say: Best Professional DSLR (April 08)

With 21 Megapixels of full frame resolution EOS-1Ds Mark III is up there with the best of them! It's the one most professionals turn too especially if they are shooting landscapes or portraits.

If however you shoot fast moving subjects like sports then the Nikon D3 is said to rule the roost.

If I had enough money I'd buy both

Re: Have Your Say: Best Professional DSLR (April 08)

The Nikon D3:

1: Full frame
2: Rapid shutter rate, up to 11 fps
3: Unbelievable high ISO performance, no noise at all till around 3200 I have seen with my very own eyes
4: Tracking 3d auto focus with 51 af points.
5: Amazingly smart camera that will expose perfectly the first time.
6: 2 CF slots allowing in camera back up for shoots.
7: Feels so natural in your hand and not overly weighty.
8: Huge viewfinder allowing a lot better composition of shots.
9: Its a Nikon

Just an awesome camera.

Re: Have Your Say: Best Professional DSLR (April 08)

I could be putting the cat amongst the pigeons (cheating a bit) here but the obvious contenders are EOS-1Ds Mark III and the D3.

.................However - For me (landscape) the medium format still rule the roost !
