Yes, it is an HDR. I do a lot of these, as it is a way for me to highlight what I see in a scene...I don't necessarily want an accurate picture, nor an out-and-out arty one, just one that shows what I saw. In this case I saw the layers, the mist, the warm colours of the morning.The greens of the foliage weren't important to me, so I toned them out. I'm still not totally happy with it, as the original HDR generated a lot of noise which required too much processing to eliminate, which has softened the edges of the layers. On the up side, it does contribute to the misty effect. Swings and roundabouts I suppose. The picture would have remained on my computer, but Melody saw it and asked me to post it. Credit goes to Melody for removing some more drastic dust atifacts caused by long exposure times. The next stage of my learning process is to use the 'Dust Mapping' facility of the camera to reduce these flaws.

Sorry about the length of this post, but an explanation of why I used an HDR was in order I think. I will say that there may be more if my mentor tells me to post them!!
