The value, Pense appeared on 6 pence, Shilling and Halfcrown

Good guess , one part correct, but rest sorry wrong. Anyone else???

Most, if not all British and British Empire coins issued during the reign of Queen Victoria will have the words (or variations of them) - "VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP" on the obverse, meaning, "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the British territories, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India". It is mostly abbreviated from Latin.

In 1887, Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee year, the inscription read "VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF", on the obverse. On the reverse, the inscription read, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE", meaning, "Evil to him who evil thinks".

This inscription seems to be almost exclusively used on the 1887-92 British Halfcrown, Shilling and a variant of the 1887 British Sixpence which was later withdrawn.

The Halfcrown is 32 mm in diameter.
The Shilling is 23.5 mm in diameter.
The Sixpence is 19 mm in diameter.

The year on your coin is between 1887 and 1892. It has to be one of the 3 values. There are Guinea`s and Florins but none are mentioned with pense on them.

Try a Silver Florin. As for the year, between 1893 and 1901

shows two shillings AND one florin dated 1893 with pense on it. Which is why your statement I quoted is wrong

Always forget Victoria reigned for a long time. Bit easier once the head was shown

Think that one is much too difficult. Majority of old coins had lions on them, could be going back a few hundred years.
