Re: China holiday 2006 (pic heavy)

Zounds

China is an absolutely amazing place to go, the people are so friendly, the culture is so different and the history goes way way back. We did this in about 8 days if I remember or thereabouts and we were knackered at the end but pleasantly so.

I would recommend giving up for a couple of years holidays to go on this trip of a lifetime. Needless to say I want to go back for a longer stay next time. Whatsmore it not that expensive when you consider everything was paid for -flight (there/back +2 internal flights)-attractions-entertainment-food.
All we spent was about 10p on bottled water as and when we wanted it for obvious reasons, £6 each on the ski lift to the top of the wall ( most tour companies don't take you to the mountainous region to see the wall how it should be seen). Tour guide cost £6 per day and car driver £3 a day. Oh Forgot the most important thing I purchased- A back scratcher in the shape of a hand , cost 10p

Visa back then £40 which the agent did within a week including sending passports to London.

I can't praise the travel agency enough.

Re: China holiday 2006 (pic heavy)

I can't give up on a couple of years holidays! I don't have any to start with! Maybe one day we can afford a trip to Bognor Regis!

Hopefully we'll be able to start saving for holidays after we get married

Re: China holiday 2006 (pic heavy)

Excellent, have a fascination with China...have a number of Chinese friends and have a small understanding of the language after being around it for 4 years and learning it properly for two. It's a shame they are where they are on human rights and a few other issues, but things are slowly 'improving' and they are set for better things I'm sure. There is so much to see and experience. My English friend is going to be retiring to China with his newer and younger wife and will be comparitively wealthy. Can't wait...will be getting some trips in i hope!
