Nikon Model Numbers...

Just browsing and look at different Nikon slr's...I know there's the D40, but is a D70 (for example) better or worse? (in specifications)...how do they do the numers? I wish there was a blog or something out there that could explain all this stuff (inc lens numbers and what they mean) to beginners in a way we understand.
So yeah, a D40 and D70 (and other numbers) which is better?

The D70 is older than the D40... unfortunately it's not always easy to tell. Best thing to do is get recommendations as people will generally not recommend anything that's too old or unusable.

Another good strategy is to look on http://camerapricebuster.co.uk not only will they have the best prices but usually they have current models, or at the latest models just going out.
