My baby girl

These are my first portrait shot's, I dont know if I should have her sitting with sunlight directly on her face, or in the shade. The first pic has sun on top and bottom, tried editing it but cant get rid of it. I wanted to capture her concentrating I love her face like this.

Tips needed!!!

Re: My baby girl

I think they are nice shots Liann

Perhaps in the second one give a little more breathing space around her?

Re: My baby girl

My tip for you Liann is this....

Keep doing what you're doing

You are a natural

I love both these shots.
I love the closeness and intensity of her concentration in the first one, and the second one could have come straight out of a magazine!

If all you are using here is natural light, then I doff my cap to you.

Keep them coming Liann, I really really like what you've shown us so far.

By the way...you're daughter is adorable

Re: My baby girl

Lovley shots Natural lighting is wonderful for portraits - try and watch your midtones. BW conversion is a nightmare and im personally cr@p at it.

Re: My baby girl

Wish my first time portraits looked this good. As Azz stated give her some room. Did you crop these? If so pull out just a bit. If not....oh well, frame them and hang them up.

Love the concentration you captured in #1. As far as the sun it is not too bad at the top, however it has blown her arm out at the bottom.

Nice job!

I am not sure how people here feel about editing others images? If this has upset you, please let me know and I will delete the image.

With that said, I had a go at #1....Added a quick vignette with black layerto soften the sun a bit.
