Selective colour (PS CS-2)

There are 2 main ways in which you can do this (will add pictures later )

1. Select the new adjustment layer - Hue/saturation drag the saturation slider all the way to the left to remove the colour from the image and select ok.
A new layer should appear above your image layer.
Using the brush tool (black paint), select the layer mask on the hue layer and paint over the areas which you want to be in colour.
You can then play about with the levels and curves to make the colour stand out or blend in.

2. Create new layer and fill with black. turn the blending mode to Hue. Erase the areas on the black layer which you want to be in colour.

A very brief way of doing things but will post more details and pictures when i get a minute

But heres and example of what it should turn out like

I been working on this image for the past few hours (ok so i didn't take the photo or the background image) I really like the style of the artist who did the Sin City designs so tried to copy him Is a great way of practicing selective colouring:

I use CS3 for this with no probs Wolfie ....have another go
