Re: Your Dream Camera 2013

Money no object? Then it would be a Hasselblad H system camera, at a starting point of about $12,000 for the entry model, think it will remain a dream.

Re: Your Dream Camera 2013

I'd settle for a 5D3 and a bunch of L lenses.

However, what has taken my eye just recently is the Olympus D kit. For mirrorless kit, some of the things people are doing with it are simply awesome.

However, I think it would have to be the 5D3 and the fully equipped studio!
Kit 1
Fuji X-T1
Fuji 18mm
Fuji 23mm
Fuji 35mm
Fuji 56mm
Kit 2
Fuji X-Pro1
Olympus OM-20
Olympus 50mm
Olympus 135mm
Olympus Trip
Other Kit

Re: Your Dream Camera 2013

Funny you should start this thread as we've just had some fairly life changing money.

Camera wise it would have to be a Canon 1DX but as a result I'm no more likely to go and drop £5K on a new camera body than go and get a Ferrari.

I've been waiting to upgrade my camera body for a couple of years. A 5D2 would suit me for landscapes and a 7D for wildlife but it's apples and pears. - A 5D3 would cover both.
Kit 1
Canon 1D Mark 3
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2
1D2 & 40D

Congratulations, that's wonderful x x (obviously not so wonderful if the circumstances are sad, but you know what I mean x)

I have friends that own the Olympus camera you mentioned and they think very highly of it. One thing to consider, however, is the sensor size on a micro four thirds camera. It is smaller than the APS-C sensor found in the Sony Alpha NEX-5N or NEX-5R models. That sensor is basically the same one used in my Nikon D7000 cropped format DSLR. It's extremely sensitive to low light conditions with little grain up to about ISO 3200. My NEX-5N can easily be used at that same low ISO 3200.
