Re: Beached

I'm not sure on this one to honest Cakey, it seems to be a bit bright and dark in odd places. What PP have you run this shot through?

Re: Beached

Cakey I like the subject. But have you 'overcooked' the processing a little. There are strange light streaks on both sides of the hull on the stones. Can you put up the original for comparison?

Re: Beached

I must admit I wasnt sure about the halo around the boat but the response was good on flick so I left it ,I will probably do another with no halo and see how that looks
I had another look at it and the processing has picked up the streaks that were there
this is straight out of the camera (embedded jpeg)

Re: Beached

I don't think it's the processing that is the issue here although an untrained eye will find some interest in the peculiarity of the colours. It's more in the interpretation. Since people on YOP are much more discerning they will look past the fancy footwork of the post processing and look for a significance in the structure of the photo. On first glance it's a boat beached during stormy weather photographed head on and in a classic, stable composition. Nothing new or inovative or even interesting here.On second glance there doesn't seem much more. Most here would probably say ' so!' in response to viewing this photo and move on because they know even a good photo can't be improved by dodgy processing. You are probably better off having left the image as was.
Cheers
Tom
