Stanley Mills

A couple of shots taken a few weeks back at Stanley Mills on the river Tay.

I've previously posted what I considered the 'pick of the bunch' which were simple mono shots of the windows but here's a few of the rest that show some of the Mill's principal buildings many of which are fancy private appartment refurbs.

Overlooking the Tay

Mono of the other side

Re: Stanley Mills

Thanks.

Most of the things I show in B&W have been converted because they didn't come out right in colour.

I think old industrial type architecture does suit B&W though.

Re: Stanley Mills

I love the second shot, see how much better a shot can be if you just get down towards the ground a bit, really nice

Re: Stanley Mills

Second shot for me. I wonder what it looks like in mono? Mono seems to be a more artistic expression of this image. Otherwise I find the colour a little more of a record shot, albeit well executed.

I don't agree, the canal in the foreground looks like it was used to transport wares to and from the mill, and this once busy workplace is now a peaceful looking scene, that peaceful look is helped by the green grass, blue sky and lovely red brickwork. A mono would work if the building was dilapidated and the area run down, but that does not seem to be the case (from what I can see).

All the best,
Alan.
