Problems with scanning slides

Hello! I'm new here and this is my first proper post. I do hope one of you experts might be able to help me!
I have just recently bought an Epson Perfection V330 Photo scanner as I have a lot of slides I need to scan. I am having a problem with a lot of them (mainly the vertical slides and especially in the sky part of each slide). I have noticed once scanned, lines seem to appear (mainly on the left but sometimes on the right and these seem normally to be green or pink/red)
At first I thought this was on the actual slides, but once I found my viewer and checked some of the affected slides I realised it must be in the scanning, because the slides in the viewer are fine. Some horizontal slides seem also to be affected but not so many.
I tried to do a search online to find out the cause, but it is difficult describing the effect and I got no results.
Here is one of my slides and hopefully you can see the lines on the left hand side. On checking them once they were scanned I think a lot will have to be done again unless I can edit out the blemishes and marks on my scanned photos (including this one!)
Any help anyone can give me regarding these lines would be much appreciated!

Re: Problems with scanning slides

It could be a corrupt driver, I had a similar problem a while back and cured it by re-installing the provided software.

After a Google search I also found the following probable causes listed...

Static interference
Loose USB cable or power cord connection
Fingerprints, smudges, lint, or dust on the scanner glass
Dirt or debris on the scanner lid
Scratched or damaged scanner glass
Poor internal connections
Dirt or debris inside the product
Damaged or faulty scanner bulb or parts

Re: Problems with scanning slides

.....if all else fails it is not too difficult to edit out the defects. Less than a couple of minutes in Photoshop for your posted image, including the hair/fibre top right.

Re: Problems with scanning slides

Many thanks for your suggestions. I haven't ever used Photoshop so will have a look at that if all else fails!

Re: Problems with scanning slides

I would try re-installing the software too, and if that doesn't work email Epsom as they might recognise the problem be hopefully have a solution.
