Re: Yellow Mongoose.

Yes, thats good too Dawn, I would have cropped it tighter in portrait orientation if it was my image rather than crop in landscape but it's really how you prefer it yourself that matters

Re: Yellow Mongoose.

What a lovely set of pictures of a really cute animal, from the looks of it you would not think it had been taken on the same day with all that snow on one pic!! great work

Re: Yellow Mongoose.

OK, as requested, technicaly I would not wish to fault this set of shots they all look good to me as light, focus, composition and depth of field work perfectly well, as to cropping there are no glaring examples that I would wish you to alter although I may have taken a different decision myself because what you remove and where you place the main subject depends on your own ideas on a visual impact. And I still love them all because of that visual impact and the fact that everyone loves a Mongoose.

Yes patience, but I do make weird noises, they scare away all the onlookers but most animals find it amusing!

Thank you. Yes, one half of the enclosure was free of snow and the other was covered in deep snow! The none snowy side had overhead heaters above the rocks which probably helped melt it.

Thanks. I agree people take different shots that they prefer. Grant would prefer a portrait shot, I liked a bit of the surroundings in the shot with the greens of the rocks and browns of the sands. Thats what makes photography a "personal" thing too I think.

Re: Yellow Mongoose.

A nice set of images, nice and sharp and good lighting, it looks like you took them late/early in the day and i like the yellow warming light highlighting his face.

Thanks Sam. They were all about the same time, just that one half of the enclosure was shaded and the other in the sun.
