Great urban shots. Clean, sharp and very well composed.

Thanks GH. Physically it is identical apart from a few cosmetic changes here and there. The big difference is the new h-res 3" screen and the extra 5mp and digic 4 processor. The screen is fantastic for checking precise focus and for live view shooting/exposure simulation. I'd say image quality and auto focus is the same as 40d. The 50d metering seems to be more accurate than the 40d, as it tended to under expose a little, I think.

I have firmware version 1.01 on my 50d but there are a few 50d's with 1.02 firmware which is supposed to improve the colour accuracy and noise.
"The test of the Canon EOS 50D was first made with firmware v.1.0.1, then with an updated firmware, version 1.0.2. The updated version significantly improved color and image noise performance. Apart from camera performance, also a test of the new EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS was made." from http://www.diwa-labs.com/wip4/detail.epl?id=274386 The 1.02 firmware is not available for download yet.
