North Falls HDR

I think I'm starting to get the hang of shooting a set of photos for HDR processing. I still used 3 photographs with 2.0 F-stops above and below normal. Compared to a single photo taken of the same Falls last year this HDR version is much better, much more balanced and natural looking. Comments welcome!

Re: North Falls HDR

Very nice Bob.

The shutter speed you've used looks about spot on too for that particular water effect.

Re: North Falls HDR

Thanks Azz & Phil. Some may think it strange but I planned this 180 mile ride, to this particular waterfall and set everything up to achieve the results you see here. I took just 6 photographs and used the first 3 to make the final composite. It was great fun and opens another door to my photography.

Re: North Falls HDR

Really nice image Bob.

You've done well to compose the three images so seamlessly.

So many people over do it with HDR images and end up with radioactive looking pictures. You've shown us here that when done carefully, you can't really tell the difference between a single shot, and three different exposures combined.

Well done

Have to agree.

To me at least - HDR is a means to achieve a correctly exposed image which otherwise couldn't be achieved in a single exposure. The end product shouldn't need to appear any different in style to a well exposed single shot.
