Photoshop

I am currenty using a very old version of PS (PS6). I was wondering about upgrading....certainly not to CS4 - but CS3 seems to be avalible at reasonable prices.

What do people think? or use?

Re: Photoshop

I have photoshop 7 - I'm considering a more modern version - but at the moment the one I have does what I need - so I don't see the need to upgrade really... I hate PP anyway I'm not good at it and can't stand doing it!

Re: Photoshop

I am not great at PP - but would like to be able to play a bit more with it.

I guess I am really asking what are the benifits of upgrading....
I wil do some cloning out/sharpening/brightness/contrast

I would love to be able to remove sections from pics a bit more easily - I really can't work it very well with 6 - but not sure if it is more advanced or I am just rubbish

Let me know if its worth it Phil

Re: Photoshop

CS4 has some really nice new features one of which, the use of the graphics card to display the image therefore giving, you variable zooming without degradation of the visible image as in all other versions of PS, the ability to see the effect of sharpening at all magnifications and not just 100% as in older versions.

I am pleased I upgraded from CS3 to CS4 as I find 4 much more user friendly and I like the new layout.
