Going Batty!
There is a roost of bats where I am staying at the moment and I would like to take some piccies when they leave in the evening. Has anyone got any tips bearing in mind fast moving creatures and low light levels. I only have the flash on the camera (Canon 350D) and a 70-200 lens.

In the UK bats are a protected species and it is illegal to disturb or interfere with roosts so be careful how you go about your shoot.

High ISO would come in handy in this situation. I'm not sure what else you could try, apart from some infra red shooting?

I do have an IR night vision movement detection camera which I could set up and leave!
It was too sunny last evening so they stayed in bed lol!

Becky, do you know what kind of bats they are? If they are insectivorous, you can attract them to you. Once they are away from the roost, toss a small stone high up into the air. Their infrasound will pick up the movement and they will come to investigate to see if it is a bug.
