Editing Help?

This photo is my favourite of Jaz, but it has a few problems as you can see.

Is there any way to improve the photo, or at least make it look a bit better? The only editing I can do is on photobucket so I'm already limited before I start.

Here's the photo:

I realise there's more wrong that right but I still love it.

Canon EOS 40D
Canon EF 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6
Canon EF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM

Re: Editing Help?

Gina, if you want to Pm me the original file, not resized, I could try Lightroom, and then Elements.

I am not sure what is on Photobucket, but could you not lighten it, and reduce the red eyes???

I understand why you love it, it's a fun shot

PS remember I am still learning, but I will give it a try , if you want me to.

Re: Editing Help?

How about that for a start Gina. Now copy it to your pictures before I forget why I did it and remove from photobucket.

Most was just lighting and a little bit of tweeking here and there. Doing the eyes wa a bit different. Red eye reduction didn't work so what I did was on my editing program was to clone a small bit of black off the side of the nearest dog the size of the eye and copy it onto the eye making them both black. Next step was to do the same with some white from another part of the picture but even smaller for the centre of the eye.
It may not be perfect as the eye colour of the larger dog may be different and I had to guess. may not be the correct way of doing it but it kinda works for me.
