Selling Digital copy...

Good morning all - im in need of some advice.

The pictures of Atlas I put up yesterday have received some interest and I have been asked if i could allow someone to buy 4 of them for their home. Now am i best doing the prints and sending them myself or shooting over digital copies at a cost (of which price im not sure?) x

Re: Selling Digital copy...

I'd be wary of sending them a high res digital copy,I'd do the prints yourself, plus then you know your work is being shown at it's best,by printers you've chosen.

Re: Selling Digital copy...

I always get them done at a shop, professionally, its very reasonable and they cant question the quality of printing. If they want the hi res copies they are considerably more. as they can print as many as they choose.

Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon 100-400mm L IS USM.

Re: Selling Digital copy...

I completely agree with the others, don't send them a high res copy, as you don't know what they'll do with it... added to which, even if their intentions are (I'm sure they are!) totally innocent, they could end up taking them to an awful printer, and be upset with the quality. I had this with someone I did a few kid shots for, they had them printed and were very disappointed. I could see right away when I looked at the prints that it was printing error. They were much happier with better prints.

Re: Selling Digital copy...

It depends what you are charging as to what they get. One hi res copy on a CD, Id sell for £20, but obviously its much cheaper if they want a "print" only.
