Re: Studio lighting

I have no idea what is a good deal or not.
All I do know is that I have a soft box by the same brand on loan to me at the moment and it seems good.

Hopefully Daisychains will notice this thread as she knows her studio lighting

Re the lights they seem ok to me, and while Jessops is usually more expensive than online, the brands they sell are generally ok too

Re: Studio lighting

I would check out the available accessories. Cheap lighting kits are okay, but because they are updated quickly it can cause two problems.

1. Expanding the kit is difficult, you end up having to buy a new kit.
2. Accessories such as more Softboxes, barn doors, filters etc either are not manufactured or you can not get them because the fittings differ.

This may or may not matter to you, it might be worth shopping around for the cheapest kit that you can find that has a mount that can take accessories from bigger manufacturers like Bowens, where the accessories are always available.
Kit 1
Canon 5D Mk11

EF 17-40 F4 L

Kit 2
