Human Planet - Photography slideshow with audio - also on BBC1 tonight.

From the icy Arctic to Africa's dense jungles - and the mountain tops of Mongolia to the deep waters of the Pacific - the BBC series Human Planet has explored mankind's incredible relationship with nature.

Accompanying the film crews was photographer Timothy Allen. His stunning still images captured unique glimpses of people living in the world's most extreme environments. Take a look at some of them, and listen to him explain how he snapped the most arresting shots.

Fantastic series... excellent in HD. Will get it in blu-ray when teh price drops a little. The photography was stunning and even better the last ten minutes of each episode...'how we did it'.

Moonie, it is out there on the net if you know where to look , otherwise wait for the blu-ray or dvd.

Re: Human Planet - Photography slideshow with audio - also on BBC1 tonight.

No all the programmes I try to catch up on, they won't play, BBC, C4 etc. Have to hope someone puts them up on You Tube

It might come on BBC America, which often has the worst of BBC telly TBH, but it sometimes shows the big documentaries etc.

Re: Human Planet - Photography slideshow with audio - also on BBC1 tonight.

I was in Tesco tonight and noticed the big 'Human Planet' book.

Had a quick flick through and it looked good.

Re: Human Planet - Photography slideshow with audio - also on BBC1 tonight.

I-player only works in the UK because of licensing e.g. the BBC pays to distribute/broadcast a programme to the UK only.

This series took 3 years to make apparently - just 8 episodes but amazing photography throughout which in general people just take for granted. Discussed it with a few others and most haven't even thought about 'how did they pan overhead', 'how can a camera be several hundred feet up there alongside a man on a branch with thousands of angry bees...and then pan out to see him from a longer shot'. Just completely over the heads of many who just don't think about it.
