Camera frustration

True Story

One one of my photographic trips out with Dawn (member here) we went to a bird santurary if my memory serves me correct, anyway that isn't really the point. After looking around we went into their cafe for a bite to eat and a drink. While looking at our photos a middle aged man started ranting and raving on the next table to us about how his new Nikon Camera (bought the day before and first try of it) didn't work and his wife said he should have bought a Canon instead. This went on for several minutes until Dawn asked if she could help as I owned a Nikon and she had used it so had some knowledge about Nikons.

It didn't take 5 minutes to discover why it didn't work, HE HADN'T PUT THE BATTERY IN.Needless to say embarrassment wasn't the word so said his thanks and left rather hastily. Yes we did have a small chuckle over it.

Suppose it is easily done

Re: Camera frustration

As long as I've been shooting I still make big mistakes out of stupidity on my part. I've forgotten to put in a memory card and failed to notice the new D800 moved their "OK" button. Most of the time, especially with a new camera owner, it's the user's fault. It is embarrassing.

Re: Camera frustration

I have to admit that I have gone out camera in hand minus the battery. Got home to find it still in the charger where I had left it the night before

Re: Camera frustration

I have on the odd occasion forgotten to change the camera setting for the job at hand, an example just last week. I had left the camera in manual mode after shooting cars with headlights on. The next time I grabbed the camera, the first few frames were all very dark until I realised my mistake
