Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

Ok I own up, my biggest failing is forgetting to check the camera settings first. The number of times I have tried to take action shots on a slow shutter speed is unbelievable, just as one example.

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

I'm guilty of rushing.

Certainly with landscape shots I need to take a step backward for a minute and think about what's in front of me rather than rushing ahead all gung ho.

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

I rush too - main reason is (you guessed it) the weather! I hate hanging around in the cold. Roll on the summer

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

took a photo yesterday with a kelvin setting of 2500 outdoors! I had just been showing someone how to adjust white balance - but forget to reset it after.... oh the joy of shooting in RAW - picture (and correct WB) restored.

I have a tendency to rush as well, especially with wildlife shots,

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

Getting behind the camera!!! lol Not looking at the bigger picture, When I get home and look at the pictures and just seeing what the camera took and not the whole scene, that my eyes saw! So basically framing the scene properly!

Mine is probably forgetting the ISO, I set all the other parameters but that one seems to get overlooked sometimes

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

Panicking with wildlife shots! I spent all day today trying to get shots of wheatears on Skomer today, and everytime I got the shot set up the damn thing had flown away, probably because I was in such a flap myself

Re: Your biggest failing when taking a shot?

My shortfall would be a reluctancy to change to a different lens. I'm often in a situation where a different focal length lens would work better but don't because it's a pain in the neck to change lenses out of a shoulder bag. Fortunately I have large hands so I've done so more than once. I just hate taking a chance of dirt entering my camera body for that one shot.
