US is a big place. Are you sure it is going into big national retail outlets? Calendars mine have been in have been sold mail order, a few specialist outlets connected with the theme (aviation) and local shops as it was a local pictorial calendar.

This is the company that is selling it.
They only sell wholesale and if I have read it right the mimimum order is $500.
mmmmm I just assumed they sell all over the U.S I may well be wrong.

No, I think it's so they can put them in the shops early, and people use them straightaway. My kitchen one started August 2010, and finishes December 2011, though I do buy a new one every year
