Digital Camera magazine

Has anyone looked in it?I have and on page 69/70 what a mess the "photoFixer" has made of the shoot of a model.
On page 69 there are 3 photos taken with different lighting and each one from left to right is progressivly worse than the last. On page 70 where the model looks in desperate need of medical help she is so pale.

If this guy claims to be a professional photographer then I don't know what photography is comming to. There are far far better pictures taken by our members.

I don't buy many magazines any more, I save and buy a book every few months instead - so I haven't seen it. Will see if I can see it when in town - mind you, they're usually in bags these days so I can't!

I used to be a teacher, both of photography and personal computers. I've learned that just because a person is an acknowledged expert in his field doesn't make him a good teacher on the subject. When you ask professional photographers to judge a photo contest there are as many opinions as there are judges. I read photography magazines to keep up with technologies both in hardware and software. Articles judging anything are always taken with a huge grain of salt. I subscribe to Digital Photography and get an issue every two months. I used to subscribe to 4-8 magazines but canceled when I realized reviews were available online.

This forum is a case in point. There are some very competent photographers here and some rank beginners. Long live the new photographers willing to learn. I still learn each and every day and am not above constructive critiques. A lot of my hobbies started by saying, "I can do better than that".
