Photographic Sights - Bishop Auckland/Wear Valley
Going to be doing a course for a couple of weeks in early-summer around the Wear Valley area (Bishop Auckland/Crook etc etc.). Looks like I will have some evenings free if I can stay out the bar and lap dancing clubs...no, only joking!!! 
, but seriously...
...will have some summer evenings free before it gets dark and a weekend where I could venture a little further and stay in a hotel elsewhere. I do cross country walking up to around 20 miles a day and am also as happy wandering around a city, a living museum or even cars or aviation stuff.
I've been to the area before, and am also happy to travel over to Tyneside or somewhere but can anyone help with suggestions for 'must see' photographic attractions, or views, short walks, long walks, places just to go etc. for the evenings and the weekend?
