Sensor dirt

I'm not impressed We have just got back from a long weekend in Wales and I started to downloaded the photo's I had taken. However I noticed a rather large and fairly prominant speck of dirt that must have been on the sensor Very annoying! I can clone it out but that is too much effort for the majority of photo's. Thankfully it isn't noticable on the shots of the dogs, just on the waterfall images. I was up against it with the waterfall shots anyway since I didn't take the tripod and so was shooting handheld. Couple that with the fact I got a few 'Error 99's come up on the camera I think it may have to go in for a service (I have had it 3 years and it hasn't had one yet).

Oh well, had a great time though

It is Canon's generic error code which means they aren't sure what is wrong with it

Sometimes it can be a problem in communication between the lens and the body (normally with 3rd party lenses though and all mine are Canon) and other times it could mean the shutter needs replacing. I have had it before on occasion but not three times on one trip.

Re: Sensor dirt

Grrr what a pain, i haven't had that problem yet, my usual error is missing a water splash on the lens or similarly stupid schoolboy error !!

Oh I had to keep wiping the lens, I was getting hit by the spray of the waterfall from where I was standing (not that you can really tell in the photo's as I was using my 10 - 22mm lens).

We were staying near Oswestry/Wrexham (yes I know Oswestry is in Shropshire ), the photo's are from Snowdon (Ceunant Mawr), Anglesey, part of the Offa's Dyke path arount Pant, Chirk and Pistyll Rheader (near Llanrhaeder). I used to go to this area about 3 times a year so know it rather well
