Sparrows Washing

I had to shoot these using a fixed focus point (Canon 550D) in the center as focus was only picking the front edge of the bird bath.
I used a wireless remote for the shutter. Shutter priority used. Metering was evaluative. I was about 9 meters away using a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom AF Lens.

C&C Good or bad please.
I'd like to learn how I could get shots like these much better

It looks like you got the settings all but spot on Dave. Maybe a more shallow DOF needed but other than that its a thumbs up

Is it there now? It was this one. I cropped it a little bit tighter...

Re: Sparrows Washing

Very nice.

That must be a fair old crop if your using 250mm from 9 meters away for a wee sparrow. If so the quality has held up well.

That bright sun must have helped with the shutter speed - tried looking at your exif to see what it was but I couldn't get it.
