Snowy Canal
Practising my ev +/- settings and thought these looked better slightly under-exposed because it didn't blow the sky or ice - please tell me if I've finally got it right or should have done something different!

I think the second one is a little on the dark side, but the first looks spot on.

Agreed. And I bet the same place would look lovely with all the frost we've been having lately. Tho rather you than me out in it

I don't have any from the ground, will be going there today so hopefully it will look fabulous! I've loved the trees covered in frost - beautiful!

A general rule of thumb is to always expose for highlights in the whites and correct for everything else. You've done a good job of getting detail in the snow so you can lighten the rest in post processing.
