Just used the information you listed in post #4 of this thread
"I think it is Ben Lomond. The picture was taken just to the South East of Hamilton, in Lanarkshire"

Plugged into Google Earth and got my first result of somewhere in California USA. Then added Lanarksire to my search and it zoomed right in. I knew I was off a little because yours suggested a little over 40 miles and mine came in at 39 miles. I work in the aviation industry and pretty good with direction.

Glad that I could help though, looks like you got the image to work
