Everyone uses forums in a different way so we will always have lurkers. Some people are active on the forum and others just want to read and learn.

I don't think there is any harm in it personally, I belong to a few other forums and will sometimes just browse them to see if anything of interest to me has been posted.

I'm a lurker nowadays. Family life is hard at the moment and I don't have time to take, download and post photo's these days. I still enjoy coming on here and lurking now and then!

I just don't see why some people would actually register and then not patricipate in any way but log in and watch. They could just visit as guests. Having registered they have access to some of the more personal aspects of the sight such as the 'off topic' threads and profiles.
