Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

Thanks
Haha Ken. No, although i think he might of sent them my way, we seem to be getting a lot of collared doves in the garden right now, usually only 2 or 3 at a time, now its between 7 and 9. Going to have to keep an eye on them as other birds are not visiting the feeders now, have not seen one starling in the garden in the last 2 days. And the Doves are such greedy birds too, 3rd time i filled the feed up today(Monday) since last Thursday.

Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

Thank you Kay

Got to think about composition and Rule of 3rd on landscapes too Kay, i have not successfully taken any landscape images. Not that i have the right lens to do so.

Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

That's not my Dove. Mine are starting to wear make-up they get photographed so much.

A good mixture set Mark. Shame those twigs are in the way of the Parakeet.
If you want to get some shots of them Mark take a drive up to Greenwich Park.
The wife and I went up there Sunday (again). There's lots of them there.
I got my first Parakeet shot. Not the best, but not to shabby for me as it was a bad day lighting wise for pictures.

Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

Thanks Dave. A shame i do not drive or i would go further South to capture the Parakeets. Always have to rely on wife and it then ends up a family day out, not always easy then, with me, all my camera equipment, Wife, Mother in law & Wheelchair, and pups of which Keisha is a Diva and will not walk with her lead on, just sits there and sulks, lol. Trying to get around anywhere is hard.
I am not sure how many there are down at Rickmansworth. I was heading back to the car and a couple of birders had mentioned to me about a Kingfisher down on the river, having never ever seen one i thought i would head back to the river in the hope to get a photo, got back to the footbridge, and just caught a glimpse of the Kingfisher, before i could point camera at it a Blackbird came out of the trees and scared it off to the other side of the river and i lost sight of it. Waited for a while to see if come back out, and whilst i was waiting 2 Parakeets turned up, the other one was further into the trees and this one just too high and behind too many twigs and branches. Glad i got at least a sighting of them though, hopefully have better luck next time

Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

What I really do like Mark is the way you seem to take sharp shots through trees.

Re: A few more feathery Friends & a Squirrel

I think sometimes Sharon the lens back focuses, if that is the right word for it, i do not think i took either the Parakeet or Redwing manually focused, which i should do when imaging birds through the twigs and branches. I know the Redwing when viewed in full screen is quite blurred though, so down to more luck than good photography skills
