cheers Phil and Owen ,I never seen these before and tried to find out what they turned into but they just dissappeared over night.
I found them one day while walking Buddy along the new river between Cheshunt and Waltham Cross there was probably 50 or 60 on one plant .
Mark said do a macro shot but they are only a 1/4" long and thought this was a macro shot hahahahaha
I will put this picture on "Wild about Briton" site to see what they know .

I tried taking some of one of those little blighters but all I got was soft blurry, mine moved too fast, you had the easy one that posed for you 
In other words
yours is a lovely shot, wish I'd been able to get one half as good of the same subject when I had the chance, oh well, now I know more what to aim for next time I see one
