Re: Wheelie!!

Whilst we are on about knees... do you get the symptoms in both knees? Any other joints?

Joint pain can be down to arthritis which is down to leaky gut. Cut out acidic foods like tomatoes and try to eat an alkaline diet to see if that helps.

Bit difficult that Azz when your stomach contains hydrochloric acid at around pH2!!!!

Re: Wheelie!!

No other syptoms for me, I have done the same knee in three times in the past, once it got stood on playing football, once in a car accident and the third just seem to jar it when out walking so I think its just given up the ghost.

Re: Wheelie!!

Your stomach releases acid when you eat (to break down food). The principle of eating a high alkaline diet, is that it leaves an alakaline residue - so the stomach acid is kept under control after it has been used to digest food, especially useful if you have a stomach ulcer or leaky gut.

How do stomach ulcers form? From the mucous being weakened (usually by a H.Pylori bacterial infection) and then the stomach acid causing the peptic ulcer as it is left under-protected.

By minimising the acid in the gut, you give it a chance to repair itself. So if you have a stomach ulcer or arthritus or leaky gut I highly recommend an alkaline diet. If you have a stomach ulcer I also recommend raw (organic) cabbage juice (must be freshly juiced as the enzymes are still 'live'), as it contains some minerals that can kill 7 strains of H.Pylori.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, you should run all dietery changes by your GP first.

Re: Wheelie!!

The intentional decrease of the acid environment in the stomach could also lead to problems, the purpose of stomach acid as well as the breakdown of food is to kill invading organisms, if you raise the pH then you also raise the chance that these bacteria will not be killed.

There are very sound mechanisms in place in the body as you would expect to neutralise the acid once it has left the stomach.

Not really, because those organisms would get killed off when the acid is released for digestion - which is a few times a day. And if there was 'meant' to be acid at that level in the gut at all times why does the body only secrete it for digestion?

Also don't forget acid doesn't kill off everything anyway, such as h.pylori. In fact, many 'baddies' can't survive in a high alkaline enviroment - cancerous cells being one such example.

If you went back to a 'natural' diet i.e. before preservatives and all that crap was introduced, it would be a more alkaline diet anyway, as most natural foods, such as fruit and veg are alkaline.
