Re: Where I live..

I really like the 2nd & 3rd shots. It appears you used a polorizing filter that really added that extra "pop". Good job!

I have a uv filter on all my lenses to protect them from scratches. Is that the same as a polarising?

Re: Where I live..

No, a polorizing filter has a seperate adjustment ring to dial out glare on water and deepen the contrast in skies.

thanks charlotte
tell me, Is that a large munsterlander thats in your avatar ? Or a pointer?
I like both, we have lots of pointers here ( working for the grouse etc which are very scarce, ) and Ive always wanted a munster. however recently the factor has aquired a black and white large munster and TBH its much smaller than I thought it would have been and less feathered. I think being around my sisters deerhounds is spoiling me. the estate keepers wife is wanting a small munster, liver and white shes maybe importing one from holland.
the grouse here are being reared in pens to help increase numbers on the hills.
the ticks, buzzards and sparrowhawks and wet weather go off with a lot of chicks. and we hardly see a hare now. sad really. however we still have larks singing and curlews so all is not lost. and we have the osprey and golden eagles and hen harriers.

Re: Where I live..

She's a GSP but was only a baby in that pic! I like the munsterlanders too - we nearly rescued a small one last year before we had Freda. They're pretty scarce here aren't they? My mum was on a breeder's waiting list for a while too, but I prefer the large ones so I put her off! I think there's a fair bit of variety in both isn't there? I've seen some stunning ones, and some that look like spaniel crosses, but I think they're lovely dogs.

Sounds wonderful where you are - some stunning wildlife! Will look forward to more pictures!
