Water Droplets

Thought i would try something different on Wednesday, not my usual thing really but there is no harm trying something new. Not the easiest thing to photograph as its all down to timing. Had tried a week previously with no luck, so not to be beaten had to give it a go again.

Its fun and frustrating both at the same time, i think in total i had taken 220 shots to get maybe 30 or so that were half decent. I started out on AF but it was`nt until i switched to MF that i started getting results.

They are incredible! looks great fun, makes me want to have a go!!

Great stuff - I tried this (just the once) ages ago and didn't get results as good as these.

It is great fun. There are some spectacular images to be had as no two drops are the same. Due to the majority of the images being taken in manual focus the focus is not as sharp i would of liked but that is easily rectified. What you place behind the bowl of water, in this case a red piece of card, and place in the water can add to the effects. I used a drop of milk to create a smoky/cloudy effect. It is something i will try again when i buy a new pod, my cheap one decided to fall apart after taking these. Maybe using different liquids, play with different lighting and backdrops. Watch this space
