Jay

Captured this little fella about an hour ago. Had to photograph him using my Panasonic Lumix LZ7 though 10x zoom so image quality is not great, very noisy. Already had my other camera set up pointing at the feeders so could not capture him with that.

This is a 1st sighting of a Jay for me so i just thought i would share Excuse the tripod legs and feeder in the shot, i could not get a clean capture of him.

Re: Juvenile Magpie

lol shows you what i know, threw me as he was in the garden same time as a Magpie and looking at the colour of the wings i took it as being a Juv Magpie. A Jay is even better. Thankyou Sharon and Cakey for identifying him

Re: Juvenile Magpie

Re: Juvenile Magpie

A Jay is worth...oh about 10 magpies in my book. They are usually quite shy.

Damn shame he seemed so curious about your tripod that he wouldn't give you a clear shot. I would watch out for him in the next few days, especially if you have food out on a regular basis.

Re: Juvenile Magpie

Not keen on them myself with that god awful noise but if one wandered into my garden with a Jay on it's arm I would get out the welcome mat...and the camera of course.
