Re: Thistle do

Interesting set you have there, number 3 i have in my garden it is actually a vegetable, it's called cardoon (Cynara cardunculus), also called the artichoke thistle, I planted it several years ago and every year it has come up and each year it gets bigger, but i still have no idea how or what part of the plant i am supposed to cook, but it looks pretty impressive

Re: Thistle do

Thanks Kay, i did come across a website naming all the thistles and thistle like plants the other week but did not save the website and cannot find it again now . The Artichoke thistle rings a bell though, photos on this site shown somebody preparing the spiky part of the plant to cook with, just type `thistles in cooking` in the search engine to see what you come up with . Might be able to make some use out of what you are growing

Me either really Ken, know some of the more common plants and flowers and now learning about others through taking photos of them, where before i would just walk past them without giving them another thought.
