Ugly Looking Critter

Still practising with the Macro lens and extension tubes.

Took this earlier this morning. What a ugly thing it is close up

lovely detail
do you have to manualy focus with extension tubes?

I had to laugh at this thread...so when did anyone ever see an alien for real huh?

Great pic, been playing with my own 105mm macro lens a bit too and by damn it's difficult to get the shot and everything in focus particualrly when the subject matter is moving about. Horrible things flies...and even worse when you know where they have come from, a dead body for instance.

Some extension tubes support all the camera's electronic features, aperture, metering, auto focus, but there are some that don't. Avoid those that don't as they are a real pain to work with.

Personally I turn the auto focus off, set the lens to it's closest focusing point and focus by moving the camera back and forth until I get the focus right.
