Re: Glenfinnan HDR

WOW!!!!!

This is just wonderful DJ I love the green boat, the colours are fantastic.

May I ask a question, when you say you used 7 exposures from one file.....

Did you alter the image to 7 different exposures , and then used them the 7 to make the final image

Sorry, just curious, because this is really nice, I like some HDR and some I don't but this is great!

Re: Glenfinnan HDR

Nice one DJ - I know this is a 'big' piece of work.

One thing I would say is the 'none reflective' part of the water in front of the boat really stands out. It looks a bit 'sharp' for water ???

Not a 'crit' though as it's a million times better than my stuff
Kit 1
Canon 1D Mark 3
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2
1D2 & 40D

Exactly right MS I created additional exposures from the original Canon RAW file ( e.g the original exposure would have a value of 0 and the others would be above and below that value, then combined and processed in Photomatrix to create this single image -HDR)
I tried to make it look like a normal image/exposure, as sometimes you can go OTT and they can look very unatural and cartoonish.

Yes, I know what you mean. The Cpl I used on my lens has eliminated some reflections and left the sharp edges of the boat reflecting on the water.

ps feel free to critisize any images I post
