Spring Color Explosion

I captured this bush of flowers at the zoo this morning. The depth of color & contrast intrigued me. There's so much intricate detail in the blossoms.

I believe you're correct Phil. Everything's in bloom right now but these were especially at their peak color & beauty.

I was fighting strong sunlight with no clouds to diffuse the light that day. The second shot suffered from hard, contrasty light. Thanks for your comments Laura.

Re: Spring Color Explosion

Azalias! Our peak time is gone now but there are some rebloomers and a few kinds that bloom off and on all year but never like the spring flush. Ours were at their best in March...Shirley

Thank you Shirley. I looked up Azalias on Google after your post and you are absolutely correct.
