My personal favourite is number 4 but I like 3 too as I can almost smell the wood where they have been sharpened.
It is actually a piece of gold card they are laid on, no spot light but used my new reflector that was stood up with the aid of a cardboard box.
So, small table near big window, gold card , with pencils on top and reflector supported by cardboard box. Classy, studio huh!

Re: Colourama!!!

Just shows what I know, thought gold card would reflect more than that but explains the gold light, did you use that for your shot of the pink petals as well?

No, that was the new spot light and my reflector the gold card is a dull finish , so not too shiny. It is interesting what you can do, if you just fiddle about a bit.

Re: Colourama!!!

Thanks for being so open; there was def. a gold light in the pink petal shot, which by the way I loved. Difficult to comment on all the shots you like there are so many good ones you find yourself liking the work of particular photographs and forgetting to comment, just selfishly enjoying the work on offer.

Re: Colourama!!!

Can't help but ask - What's the point? LOL Sorry, I really couldn't help myself. You have a really narrow depth of field in this shot. Interesting.
