Helicopter

I feel this is how to capture a helicopter perfectly to ensure it looks natural in flight by using an appropriate shutter speed to ensure movement in the rotors.

Also composing the picture to provide slightly more forward space for the Chopper (viewer's eye) to flying into.

Please feel free to comment.

Re: Helicopter

Really nice image that, the only odd thing is that it appears to be a UH 1 with British markings, where was it taken ?

Re: Helicopter

To be able to get a photo like that you also have to be able to get relatively close.
JR can I ask how far away were you to get such an excellent shot.

The nearest most of us can get I suspect is at some large show where helicoper trip are available for 15 minute hops

Re: Helicopter

Bazza - you're right, and I appreciate how lucky I am. The chopper was on the ground next to me before taking off - I was even offered a lift back to the Garrison in it, but alas I have my jeep with me. This was about 30m away when I took it I am guessing.

My next project.... The Red Arrows have arrived in Cyprus and will be training in the blue skies above my house and around the cliffs at RAF Akrotiri for the next month honing their 09 season display - so guess what I will be doing next week!
