Re: first attempt to post some pics

KK

Agree its an excellent picture as you say, I think it comes down to the old arguement as to edit/ how much/ or not, which has been discussed before. Its one of those pictures that is really good and is one of those personal taste ones again having been already discussed in another previous thread.

Re: first attempt to post some pics

Thanks for all the great comments and words of encouragement.
Bazza, I tried the black and white technique and I have to agree it can make a dramatic difference. Here's another I took on the same day that I feel benefits from the black and white treatment.

Kit 1
Pentax k100d
Pentax 18-55mm
Sigma 70-300mm

Re: first attempt to post some pics

Have to say I do prefer the pictures in this instant in b/w. Another great photo with the perspective of the pier leading the eye into the picture.

I havn't tried it but wonder if the bright patch in the centre top would look better cropped out?
Think it tends to distract form the overall picture. That way keeps the light balance more even across the picture as a whole. Just an idea.

It seems to work scrolling the picture up to eliminate it, the reflection in the water is sufficient.

Re: first attempt to post some pics

I have to agree, Bazza and there's plenty of room on the left of the picture to allow a further crop to mantain overall proportion.

Re: first attempt to post some pics

Very nice for a first post. Some of the best photos can come from an overcast day. Keep shooting & posting.
