Re: TriTone Huskies 3

Thanks for comments!
Someone on another forum thought they were a little under exposed and too much vinyette, so had another play, what do you think?

Re: TriTone Huskies 3

Not really to my taste, for me the beauty and magnificence of these dogs is in their colour, I don't think this conversion does justice to this subject. Would like to see #4 in full colour.

Thats ok, here you go:

Generally I prefer Huskies in colour, especially in their natural snow environment, as most are black & white anyway its the background that is the usual deciding factor whether to convert, just been playing around with conversions the last couple months, I have soo many photos of Huskies its nice to do something different now and then, as with everything new I try in photography, the huskies are my practice/test subjects! I been lucky enough to be around them every day for the last 10 years, and they are the only reason I took up photography again after a break of a few years.
Some of the conversions I've tried I prefer, mainly from the 1st lot I did, some I'm not sure about and some I know don't work.

Comments/opinions always welcome!

Re: TriTone Huskies 3

Siman, completely appreciate where you are coming from, I experiment all the time, if we didn't we wouldn't move on. (I do like the tone on #1&2 though, would possibly be suitable on 40's style portraits perhaps....thats humans I mean).

Incidentally I have six dogs, five of them are black at the moment and it can be a struggle to get decent pictures of them at times.

This was taken a couple of years ago for instance:
